Thanks to everyone who pledged during the show, and during the funding drive. All together counting pledges made later in the week we raised $1740 on the show and the final total for the drive to date is $222,561! We had almost ten thousand dollars in post-drive pledges come in online, making this the most successful Funding Drive in CJSW’s history, as well as the best Funding Drive of any community radio station in Canada. All money raised goes to capital costs and maintenance. Pending Industry Canada approval we should be upping our FM transmitter power to 18,000 Watts in the next few months as well as developing automatic podcasting via the cjsw.com web site for every show.
A special thanks also to Myke Atkinson, CJSW station manager and host of the great Friday morning electronic show Big Friday. Myke joined me on air for a good portion of the funding drive show and we had a great time expounding on the virtues of CJSW. Have a listen: mp3
