"Ear-Grabbers" of 2010 - Part III (Part II with Timothy Heck)
Download mp3 or ogg

Unfortunately, Victoria-based artist & world-traveler Peter Glimm (who was planning to perform songs from his new record "NightShade") had to postpone his visit due to a family emergency. Hopefully we will be able to reschedule later in the year.

Instead I carried on with part III of my look back at 2010, highlighting some more of the music that caught my ear. I was joined again by Timothy Heck (longtime cjsw programmer and host of the sorely-missed Music For Hedgehogs program) who contributed some of his favourites.

The tracks: Frederick Squire - You Sing Low and We Will Sing High, Damien Jurado - Kansas City, Warpaint - Set Your Arms Down, Marilyn Crispell & David Rothenberg - Invocation, Zazie Von Einem Anderen Stern - Regentropfen, Pan American - From Here, Sylvain Chauveau - The Unbroken Line, The Knife in collaboration with Mt. Sims and Planningtorock) - Annie's Box, Namlook - Pearl XXVI, Balmorhea - Palestrina, The Legendary Tigerman - Hey Sister Ray, Grinderman - Fire Boy, The Barr Brothers - Deacon's Son, Yann Tiersen - Palestine (Yann Tiersen remix), Drivan - Som En Laderlapp, Rocky Votolato - Sparklers, Chris Brokaw & Geoff Farina - In the Evening (Leroy Carr cover), Hans Abrahamsen - Canon 2A: Lustig spielend, aber nicht zu lustig, immer ein bißchen melancholisch, Oval - Kastell, Murralin Lane - All We Hear Are Birds, and Memory Screen - Kathmandu.

The links to the archived show recordings should be good for up to a month from the show date. If the links expire just let me know via comment and I'll re-upload them.

Unfortunately the cost of using free file sharing sites such as mediafire is possible exposure to questionable advertising in the form of nasty pop-ups (sorry). Prior to visiting the download links above I highly recommend installing and using pop-up, flash and ad-blocking extensions in your web browser on top of solid antivirus/internet security protection. Doing so hides/blocks all of that crap.
